How can I get Help?

Depression- A Mental Illness

Clinical depression is a mental illness that is either caused by genetics or a chemical imbalance in your brain. No two depressions are the same, and there are multiple FDA approved medications to treat depression. Studies have proven that the best treatment for clinical depression is a mix of antidepressants and counseling, but do remember that there is no cure for depression. The way Mayo Clinic defines depression as "Depression is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest. Also called major depressive disorder or clinical depression, it affects how you feel, think and behave and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems. You may have trouble doing normal day-to-day activities, and sometimes you may feel as if life isn't worth living." Clinical depression is not just a temporary problem and can not be treated without help, so please take the time to consider your options and ask for help if needed.
